sarabeth & kyle : engagement

March 16, 2010 | engagementsslideshows

I can’t say enough WONDERFUL things about SaraBeth & Kyle.  They are both simply amazing!  We had so much “fun” on their photo shoot & even Kyle agreed with me (after I posted the definition of “fun” for him on SaraBeth’s facebook page…ha.ha).  They drove 2 hrs for their shoot, but they never once seemed tired of hiking all over downtown Savannah for photos.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day, although it was actually raining on me when I left the island driving to meet them.  I had sent SaraBeth a text earlier in the day to assure her that I had ordered sunshine for their photo shoot.  No worries though…I did a lot of praying and as I got a block from the parking garage…the SUN came out!  The skies cleared up and only 2 drops ever hit my head.  (Yes, I had a back-up plan and also a X-large umbrella.  Just in case I needed to rock the shoot in the rain.)  Luckily…the weather was great the rest of the afternoon.

I am sure Kyle was wondering why he had to climb the stairs & stop and climb the stairs more & stop again and once more climb the stairs & stop a-g-a-i-n….ha ha.  This is why Kyle…LOL.

Do not worry, Kyle was not tortured…notice here how we let him sit down after all that climbing…ha ha.

One thing I love about downtown is all the cool walls…

Even the dirty ones seem to have character within them.

Finally things are blooming in Savannah and the colors are always so amazing.

On top of the very elegant Bohemian Hotel on the river.  I didn’t think we would be able to shoot here…how-ever, we stopped by and the staff was overwhelmingly NICE to us.  They let us snap a few quick photos inside and up top.  This is now on my list of “kewl” places to go…I must get a group of girls together immediately.

It over looks the Savannah River and the Talmadge Bridge…very very NICE!

Gotta love “fun” art.  It kinda looked like a rabbit from the front, but it actually was a “floating woman”…

I love this shot…definitely one of my favorites.

and this one too…

YEP and this is another one of my favorite images.  By the way, I had a lot of favorites!!

SaraBeth and I both went “oooohhhhh” and “ahhhhhhhh” when we saw this window display, it had several old cameras set up.  Very exciting for her and I, so we had to take a photo in front of it.  SaraBeth is in school and on her way to a bright future in photography….

Follow your dreams SaraBeth…

To close out, here are a few photos inside the very sleek & fabulous Bohemian Hotel on the river.  The inside was very dark & unfortunately I didn’t have the flash for my camera.  I very seldom do any photos “inside” on an engagement shoot, thus the absence of my flash…ha.ha.  But even with it being so dark we still had to take a couple photos on their amazingly cool furniture.

SaraBeth & Kyle…

I had a blast with you guys. Thanks for all the laughs and being so awesome on your shoot.  I am so very excited for your wedding.  Thank you again for putting your trust in me.

brittany & corey : engagement

March 11, 2010 | engagementsslideshows

This is Brittany and Corey.  They met at church in Athens, where they are both currently students attending UGA (University of Georgia)…go Dawgs!  They wanted me to take some photos in the park to start off their engagement shoot.  I love shooting this time of year, when the trees and flowers start blooming.  It is March, spring is on the way, the parks are beautiful and so were Brittany & Corey.

A playground & swing-set…a rainbow…arm wrestling…jumping…spinning around and attack birds are just a few things that were experienced on this shoot.  Thank you guys for being so wonderful.

The beach was an amazing place to finish their engagement shoot.  The sun was golden at this time and the bird was very cooperative for this photo.

However, right after we were standing on the pier and a flock of birds almost ATTACKED us…yikes.  True story.   And I love Brittany’s expression here.  The birds got a little scary and were flying everywhere.

I know this was torture for Corey, but he was a good sport…thanks Corey!

After a long shoot full of energy…I did allow Brittany & Corey a brief moment to themselves.  I love this pic.

Brittany & Corey…I am so excited for your upcoming wedding.  You guys are beautiful inside & out and I am so blessed to be a part of your special day.  Thank you for trusting me to capture the love you share.

best wishes to you both…

guest sign-in books

I love these books!  They’re a beautiful & modern way to remember who were guests at your wedding.  So throw away that old book with the lines in it…who wants to sit and read a list of names of the people who were there.  Have some fun.  Put one of these books on your guests sign-in table and watch people laugh, smile & high-five each other as they leave you a personally written message or wish, while still letting you know…”YES I was at your wedding!”.   I’ve gotten so much positive feedback from the brides and grooms who’ve chosen these books, it seems they make wonderful coffee table books for a newly married couple.  If you need a laugh or smile one day, just pull it out and revisit all the wonderful things your family & friends wrote to you on this very special day.

Another thing that makes these books so awesome is I custom design them with my clients favorites images from their engagement shoot.  You pick the images and let me do the rest.  I make sure and leave plenty of white space in the design layout, so there is space for all your guests to write short messages, not just sign their name.

The photos are hand mounted on these heavy matted pages, which gives the book a nice sturdy feel.  Also, these books also come with a wrap around cover that matches the printing on the front of the book…attractive to the eye while also protecting the book from scratches and such.

Some images are showcased large, but still leaving that white space for comments & friendly wedding advice. :)

This book is a 10″ x 10″ so when open the layout is nice and large and the images are powerful!  These books are available in other sides also and although I like the square books, I always let me clients decide.  :)

I also like to include special pages for both the bride & groom separately.  Here is a peak at what a bride’s page might look like.

These books are fresh & stylish and I think their just simply COOL!  Only the best and most wonderful products for my AWESOME clients!
