Here are some of my favorites from Amanda and Jerry’s Engagement session . . .

It was really sunny when we began their engagement session, but I love the way the light gives the marsh a golden hue.  It was simply gorgeous out.

Amanda has the most beautiful smile and such a great laugh. Looking at Jerry’s expression, I think he agrees with me.

I think Amanda is kinda smiling as she kisses Jerry.  And I think that is sweet~!

We found this cool old wood boat, so we took some fun photos in front of it.

I was kidding Jerry about hanging out & climbing trees during his engagement shoot, he was laughing in the background.  He was a great sport for photos.

Jerry even made a few funny faces with Amanda.  Thank you Jerry~!

Another reason I love these two . . . Tyra.  It was important for them to have photos with their four legged baby.  This made my heart smile.  Tyra was much more obedient than my Mocha when it came to taking pictures.  Isn’t she beautiful~! (that was a statement not a question…ha.ha.)

I love this photo.  Tyra has such a cute expression on her face.

Sunsets don’t get much better than this, especially when you can share it with your special someone . . .

So here are some of my favorites from Korry and Michael’s Engagement Session . . .

Here is Stella.  She was ADORABLE~!  Also, a BIG THANKS to Korry’s sister, Kassy (and her husband Justin) for coming along to help out with Stella when I didn’t need her for photos.  And for helping to make Stella laugh.
I love this photo.  Stella is probably thinking “Crazy lady with the camera, why are you taking so many photos of me & when does it stop????” ha ha ha.
Simply put, we had FUN~!  It’s not often your fiance can romantically serenade you in the park and a ton of people are watching.
I love the way the light is hitting the far side of Korry’s face.  Plus she just looks really HAPPY~!

And this photo has to be one of my MOST favorite images. It’s just perfect to me.

No kids were harmed in the taking of these photos . . . ha ha.  However, a shoe was temporarily misplaced.  LOL.
A nice couple was walking their doggie and Stella wanted to get down and say Hi . . .

Even though I didn’t get this image in focus (probably because I was laughing too) . . .I still kept it because I love Korry’s great big beautiful laugh~!

Our plan was to do the family shoot on the beach at Hilton Head, so I scouted things out several days before & then went early the day of the shoot.  I figured Beau didn’t want to propose on the beach with a crowd of on lookers.  So I walked & walked looking for an appropriate area near the beach, although there were not many private areas.   And after some wishing and a prayer or two, I stumbled across this amazingly COOL tree.  YES~!  I knew it would be perfect.  However, it was on private property, so I did get permission from the owner to take a few photos.   I had planned to use Magan & Beau as my guinea pigs to “check the light” and get a “good spot” for photos.  This was his cue that he could pop the question when “he was ready”.  And he did! *Check out the slideshow link at the bottom to see how things progressed.

CONGRATULATIONS MAGAN and BEAU!!!!  I am so happy I got to capture some photos of this very special moment!!!

If you notice in the background there was a horrible storm approaching, but I was able to grab all the photos I needed.  I love this one . . .

I met Mariah earlier on this day to do her bridal shoot and can I just say OMG OMG OMG!  Oh my gosh!!!!! (With extra exclamation marks because she was that GORGEOUS.)  It was the first time I met her and I must say my jaw dropped.  I can’t wait to share her bridal portraits with everyone, but not until after her wedding.  (hee hee. soon though)  But until then, I am more than HAPPY & EXCITED to share the photos of Mariah and her fiance, Medgar.  A beautiful couple (inside and out).

Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement shoot . . .

I know it can be difficult getting in front of my camera when you’re not use to having your photo taken.  However, these two make it look super easy.

This is one of my favorite images in front of the fountain at Forsyth Park.  (I must admit Mariah was a natural when it came to posing.  She made my job easy.  Girl, you rock!)

Mariah has a beautiful smile and a great laugh.  Photos like this make me smile as well.

Funny story about the next series of images.  I wanted to get a couple action shots of Mariah spinning into Medgars arms & then he would dip her.  It sounded easy until we all started laughing and couldn’t contain ourselves.  They tried a couple times and I found that it was more fun to photograph the bloopers of how things didn’t work out.

Finally we just gave up and Mariah, still laughing, collapsed into Medgar’s arms.  This image is a keeper.

Everyone must get a photo on a park bench in Savannah.  It’s part of the charm of our city.

I like to give my clients time during a shoot to interact casually, allowing me to get some candid images.  Medgar & Mariah were taking a moment to talk.  So happy I got a quick photo.

A change of outfits and we headed down to Riverstreet for some last photos.  The sprinklers had been watering the grass so I had to search for an area that was dry.  We found a small patch of grass that worked perfectly.

I snapped this photo because of the very cool necklace that Mariah was wearing.  Turtles are awesome Mariah.  I have a turtle pin myself.

You both make my camera very, very HAPPY!

An old bench, a cool tree & part of the Riverstreet brick wall . . . win win win.

Just for fun, we stopped here for a couple photos.  The word “SAVANNAH” is showcased beside a drawing of Savannah’s Waving Girl.

I try to always search for different areas around the cobblestone streets.  I love the stone walls.

On the way back to the car, I spotted this huge bush with these white flowers.  Awesome!  Needless to say, I was happy that we ended the shoot here.

*Info added : My Mom saw this post and emailed me that she thinks it is called an Oleander Bush.  I googled it of course, because I love to google . . . and I believe she is correct.  It’s an Oleander Bush, instead of a “huge bush with white flowers”.  ha ha.  Thanks Mom.  You know I am not good with flowers names.

This is Jessica & Chris.  A few things involved in their engagement shoot are : rain, sunshine, a pink umbrella, azaleas, a few sand gnats, a parrot & a duck, a big ship, cowboy boots, Groucho Marx funny nose glasses and ICE CREAM!!!

Jessica and Chris are getting married at The Mansion at Forsyth Park, so I wanted to take a few photos around the mansion to start things off.  Because there was a wedding going on inside, we simply took a few images around the outside area.

Jessica knew from my blog that I’m a “SHOE GIRL” and that I love to photograph shoes!  (I was secretly HAPPY that she had visited my blog enough to know this.  Jessica you get extra bonus points for being a “cool” bride.)  Anyways, she came prepared with these awesome heels topped off with some pink painted toenails . . .  YES, I smiled BIG!

At this point it was raining and we ducked under a small walkway to get out of the rain.  When I looked up and saw a chandelier hanging above us outside, well I immediately knew I must get a few photos. Shooting in the rain while holding my camera and balancing an umbrella under my arm, I was able to snap a couple beautiful images.

Just 10 minutes later the skies cleared up and as we walked towards the fountain at Forsyth Park, we passed some beautiful azaleas.  Another must have photo.  LOVE IT!

Then within the next 10 minutes, the rain came again!  Not to worry though, because Jessica and Chris were both cool with standing under the umbrella for a few quick images.  These guys were so amazing, when things could have been so stressful, they just went with the flow and this made their photo shoot even more fabulous.

As we walked through the park, the rain stopped and the skies cleared.  YEA!  I found this interesting purplish color bush/tree that made for an awesome backdrop.

Sometimes, I love to off-center my clients when I am composing a shot.  I think it just makes the photo more interesting.  I do this on purpose, just in case you were wondering.

I love this time of year with all the flowers blooming and the grass is GREEN!   I found this area and the Spanish moss hanging from the trees caught my eye.

Again, I frequently off-center my subjects.  In this photo I wanted to keep the Spanish moss blurred out in the upper left corner while keeping Jessica & Chris the main focus of the photo.

These were a few photos simply for FUN!  Thank You Chris for being so awesome!  Riding the parrot went over & beyond my expectations!  You rock!

After photos at Forsyth, we headed down to the Riverstreet area for the second part of the shoot.   Jessica changed into another awesome outfit and swapped her sweet heels for a super cool pair of cowboy boots, which I unsuccessfully tried to talk her out of.  ha ha.  Anyways, I just love this photo on the bridge . . . it is one of my favorite images from the shoot.

And this is another FAVORITE photo . . .

As we were shooting on the bridge, a huge cargo shop was leaving from the Savannah River.  I was able to grab a few quick photos.

Factors Walk is a very popular historic place in Savannah.  I usually don’t shoot under signs like this, but I wanted to keep some Savannah landmarks in their shoot.

A series of silly photos?  YES please.  Groucho Marx funny nose glasses?  YES please.  A couple willing to be goofy for my camera?  YES YES please!  Thank you guys. You’re both AWESOME!

As we headed up to Broughton Street, we passed another one of Savannah’s historic landmarks . . . The LUCAS Theatre.  YEA YEA YEA, another awesome photo opt!

The last part of the shoot was definitely Chris’ favorite!  ICE CREAM @ Leopold’s on Broughton Street.  Stratton Leopold is a local celebrity and his ice cream store is famous!

Stratton’s career in Hollywood has earned him respect as an executive producer and his ice cream store in Savannah has earned him a fan base of all who love ice cream!

Shooting the last part of the engagement photos at Leopold’s Ice Cream was a win win!
