Hello Gorgeous!

This is one of my favorites.  It could be the beautiful Ms Huxsie Scott, or the old wood bench in the park, or maybe the spanish moss hanging in the background.  All these things remind me of Savannah and this photo captures them all.

Even though I really love the black & white photo above, I thought the color photo was as gorgeous.  A mix of colors always makes me smile.

I had to take a photo in front of the fountain at Forsyth Park, just because both Ms Huxsie Scott and the fountain are icons of Savannah.

As we were finishing the shoot and walking back through the park, a voice called out from behind . . . “Ma’am, excuse me.  Ma’am.”  We turned to see an elderly gentleman across the walk area.  He immediately asked “Are you Ms Huxsie Scott?” It was getting dark and I didn’t know how he could have possibly recognized her from afar, but he did.  She answered “Yes sir, I am.” and then he smiled so big at us.  “I saw you sing many years ago and I know that no angels in heaven could have sounded more beautifully than you as you sang…” Ms Huxsie humbly blushed and thanked him for his kind words.  He waved good-bye and walked on.  I wasn’t at all surprised that her voice had touched him so deeply and years later he remembered her with such excitement.  I still remember the first time I heard her sing.

Dear Ms Huxsie.  Thank You for sharing your beautiful self with me.  I feel lucky to now call you a friend.  Thank you for the coffee and all the great conversation.  God has given you such a gift of song.  I hope you truly know how many lives YOU TOUCH when you sing!  Your smile and gentle heart are so welcoming.  May God continue to bless you on your journey in life.  With love & prayers, cassandra

As the day progressed, I started remembering so many wonderful memories from this past year.  Memories and people  that will change who I am forever, hopefully for the better.  Clients and fellow photographers have all impacted me in a way that makes my heart seem so full.   Yes, I feel blessed to do something I love.

To my dearest clients & their families . . . THANK YOU all for touching my life.  I HOPE that in some small way I touched yours as well.  I could not have asked for a better clientele, I could have not asked for better people to now call my friends.  I love you ALL!  Thank you for making 2010 so WONDERFUL.  As I browse over some of your photos, I am in a constant state of SMILING and LAUGHING.    May God Bless each of your lives in 2011 . . .

I do try and get plenty of close-up shots for the purpose of using on Christmas & Holiday cards . . .

And some fun images are always a must.  This image was all Madyson, she was simply hiding from me and my camera.

Not sure why she looks in such deep thought here, but I rarely get her being quite so this image was a keeper.

The hat was a gift from Grandma.

This photo of Madyson hugging herself is a favorite of mine.  I think everyone deserves a great big hugg once in awhile.

This is Madson’s “fake” smile . . . she does this once and awhile and it always makes me laugh.

Even though she is not laughing or smiling really big, I just love the expression.  It shows off her big eyes.

And of course, a smile is always nice too.

Sometimes my subjects don’t cooperate by sitting up straight.  That is totally ok with me, I still have fun and still get some great photos.

Aaaaaaa-dorable Madyson!

Madyson tends to move around a lot during our shoots.  Getting up close and personal with me & my camera is something I expect from her.  I always love these images.

As you can see, the “fake” smile was a big hit on this day.

Something about this image just screams “too cool for school”…LOL.  Do people still say that?  I guess we do.

And I love getting close-up shots of clients.

Mark has the GREATEST SMILE, obviously . . . but every once in awhile I wanted a more serious look for Mark.  ”Serious Mark” rocks too.

However, I think “smiling Mark” is probably more popular.

A big tanker ship was coming in.  It was just fun to take some photos with it in the background.

The beach always looks so calm and peaceful as the sun sets.

It was getting dark really fast, but I was able to get some GREAT last shots.

This photo I threw in for fun.  I was asking Mark if the water was cold and he politely said “no” . . . but I kinda think it was a little chilly by his reaction here.

This was the very last photo, as the sun had officially set 20 minutes earlier.  It was dark, but I shot at a very high ISO and got this GREAT last image.
