MY START | My photography journey began when I was just a teenager. My love of being behind the camera led to me taking random photos of things on the farm where I grew up. This led to rolls & rolls of 35mm film and tons of photographic prints. Behind the camera, I was able to see the world in a different way. I found beauty in the most simple of things. Having photography as a hobby brought me an appreciation for the world we live in and definitely helped shaped the person I am today.
MY CAREER | Wedding Photography came later in life and has become a way for me to explore photography in a new & exciting way. I graduated from SCAD, The Savannah College of Art & Design, with a degree in Computer Art : 3D Modeling & Animation. However, I decided to go down a different path when it came to picking a career. Wedding Photography has become that path. It has been a way for me to connect with some of the most amazing people, both clients and vendors. I am truly blessed by the direction photography has taken me and I am genuinely thankful for how it has enriched my life.
MY APPROACH | I do not have any clearly defined expectations going into a wedding day, except to give 110% of myself. Every wedding is different, every couple is different, the energy of the day is different and even the weather can change at a moments notice. Therefore, my goal is simple...to capture images that will allow the couple, their friends & family to see how truly amazing their love story is. I shoot a mix of both candid and posed photos on a wedding day. I feel it is important to capture not only the beauty of a couple, but also the beauty that shines from within. I am dedicated to documenting all the happy moments, the love, laughter, tears, those secret glances, as well as the details and all the things that make that wedding special, unique & fabulous. I was a mommie to my furbaby named Mocha for 17 yrs + 8 mths + 15 days [RIP MOCHA]. He was a small Yorkie with a big attitude. • I am a firm believer in handwritten notes. Writing Thank You cards is very important to me. Sending "birthday cards" or a "thinking of you" card is something I continue to do. • I taught myself Calligraphy at an early age and still use it when writing and addressing envelopes. • I am passionate about many things...photography is just one of them. • I find joy in just hanging out with friends and listening to good music. • I truly believe that treating others with "kindness and respect" is of the utmost importance. • I LOVE sticky notes! • In a world where you can be anything...BE KIND.
• Riding my beach cruiser around the island, whether to go sit and listen to some live music or just a stroll through the cemetary on the way to get a coffee...yes, weirdly enough I find it a peaceful ride.
• Riding my Trek around by the ocean for exercise also lets me clear my head and brainstorm, while testing my patience with people who do not pay attention and walked in my path.
• Star gazing...I love to lay in the hammock at night and look up at the stars. It humbles me to realize just how small we are in this amazingly huge universe.
• I love to travel - and if I could, I would travel to a new place every month.
