Below are some photos I captured of the Tall Ship known as “The BOUNTY” as it left Savannah, Georgia back in May of this year. Our city was blessed to be one of the places that the Tall Ships stopped during the Tall Ships 2012 Challenge. It was a beautiful site as the sails carried it down the Savannah River. I was sitting along the banks at Old Fort Jackson taking photos of all the Tall Ships, which I blogged about here : TALL SHIPS LEAVING SAVANNAH.
I was very sad this past week to hear that this amazing vessel was lost at sea off the coast of North Carolina in hurricane-ravaged seas. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the Captain and the other crew member that were lost.
I just wanted everyone to see how beautiful The BOUNTY was before this terrible tragedy . . .
