Their longtime relationship finally evolved into something more. Something wonderful. A love to be cherished forever. Victoria and Chase complete each other in so many ways . . . her Type A personality is nicely balanced by Chase’s relaxed demur, his patience and his kind heart. Their puzzle pieces just fit perfectly together. I loved watching them laugh and I even enjoyed Chase’s weird sense of humor, which makes Victoria roll her eyes and shake her head. But I know she secretly loves his funny silly side, never a dull moment.
I wanted to tell their story in a way that would share the special connection they have always had. Victoria helped me out by explaining how they have know each other all their lives because of a close connection between their families. The story actually begins with their moms and aunts all being best friends in high school & college, long before these two were even born. Victoria said that “Some believe it’s destiny, but I say God had his hand in our marriage far before we ever thought of it”. Very well said Victoria.
Chase decided to propose to Victoria in Savannah, but this was not the first time he asked her to marry him. NOPE. At the age of 4, Chase asked Victoria if she would promise to marry him one day, she turned him down. (ohhhhhhhhh, I love that story. I can totally see a sassy little 3 yr old Victoria putting her hand on her hip & flipping her hair as she said no. too funny.) However, this was not the end, Chase continued to pursue Victoria. By age 8, he the annoying little boy that wanted to impress her. But trying to throw handfuls of dirt and gravel as far as you can, well it really is not the best idea. And since Chase ended up hitting Victoria in the face and busting her eye, he probably should have rethought his plan. Of course Victoria said she was NOT impressed and disliked him very much after that . . . ha ha. As the years passed, these two little kids grew up. Then a boy and a girl grew into close friends who liked each other more and more. Chase asked and Victoria said yes to a date. Fast forward a little and then she said YES to his grown-up proposal. A proposal that Chase put his heart and soul into, as his invited and included their very close friends to be a part of his plan to ask Victoria to marry him. What a special night with friends that was filled with romance, laughter, tears and excitement. These two are truly a perfect example of TRUE LOVE.
I had the honor of shooting their Engagement Session in downtown Savannah. We walked around the beautiful park at Forsyth and made our way from through the alleys and down onto Riverstreet. Victoria being a smart cookie, did bring her flip flops for the walk on the cobblestones. It was so much fun shooting images with such amazing backdrops.
Victoria had this really adorable dress on. I am so happy I got a photo of the ruffles on the back.
Cobblestones, brick walk ways, rock walls and ivy made for amazing black & white photos, as well as color images.
We did stop at Factor’s Walk for a few quick photos.
LOVE these next three pics together.
Chase, you were so great to let Victoria put lipstick all over your face . . . ha ha ha. Love the second photo down.
The fountain at Forsyth Park always makes a cool back ground.
And some random person left this message in chalk . . .
Victoria + pink heels is a great combination.
Ended the shoot on Riverstreet with a couple silhouettes . . . Mr & Mrs . . . soon~!!!!!
