JENNIFER, YANCEY, COOPER & MACKENNA

I have been looking forward to photographing this family for awhile now. I took some casual photos of Cooper & Mackenna when I first met them down on Riverstreet during the boat races. I was so excited when Jennifer recently contacted me about doing a family shoot. I knew I would get some amazing photos with these kids. Cooper has the greatest smile and Mackenna has some amazing eyes. Below are some of my favorites from the shoot…

Most people know that I love to shoot candid shots of kids. I very seldom pose a kid and have them sit still in front of my camera. I like to let the kids be natural and do as they please. That way in every photo the parents will see some of their children’s personalities.

Jennifer is such a great Mom and she was very easy to work with as a client. She repeatedly said those three words I love to hear…”whatever you think”. That let me know she trusted me as her photographer.

Here is a close-up of Mackenna. She truly has the biggest and most beautiful eyes. I could photograph her all day.

Jennifer & Yancey…

Before sunset, we went down to the beach for some last photos. I think all of these were favorites of mine from the shoot.

Mackenna was constantly picking up shells and throwing them. For some reason she found this very entertaining.

I like this photo of Mackenna. I wanted to give a panoramic appearance & feel to it, so for my blog post I cropped it on purpose like this.

Mackenna basically ignored me the entire shoot. I would call her name and she would ignore me. Her Mom would call her name and she would ignore her. She was in her own little world of happiness. It got to be a little funny with us trying to get her attention. Then out of no where, in the last few minutes, without any coaxing she turned to me and gave me the biggest smile. She just knew she had done good when everyone was laughing and clapping for her. Ooooohhhhhhhhh…YES! I love this photo of her.

This was the last photo of the shoot…perfect timing, a big cargo ship was heading out to sea. These are very cool to watch and kids always seem so intrigued by them. I love when I can get a fabulous image to end the session. It seems I always LOVE the very last shot.

Jennifer & Yancey…Thank you for trusting me with such important family memories. You have two beautiful and well-mannered kids, you both should be very proud. I am already looking forward to another shoot. 😉

Have a blessed day~cass!
