WEDDINGS FOR WARRIORS | Wendy & Mark

Yesterday, I was blessed to be able and volunteer for a local project called “Weddings For Warriors“.  Here are some of my favorite images from one of the couples I photographed.

WENDY & MARK : Vow Renewal

The ceremony took place at the beautiful Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church . . .

I loved Wendy’s shoes!  I got this great shot outside by hanging them on this steel mesh that was covering the windows.  Love it~!

The brides got ready at The American Legion upstairs in the ballroom.  There were plenty of volunteers doing hair & make-up.  Mary Kay make-up artists did a fabulous job on all the girls.

Alyssa was too funny.  Not happy here, BUT . . .

HAPPY here . . .

She even helped with Tiffany’s dress.  Too cute.

Savannah Trolley Tours provided transportation all around downtown historical Savannah.

These gorgeous rose bridal bouquets were done by Vicki Sepielli & her staff.  Vicki owns a very respected Savannah floral shop called Kiwi Fleur.  She has been a part of the project since it started and she gracious continues to help every year.

Local musicians, like Harpist Leslie Adair, even donated their time and talent . . .

Marine Corps Warrant Officer Mark Moyer.  Thank you Mark for your service to our great country.

The sunlight was really bright coming in the windows but I really LOVE these next images.

Blessing of the rings . . .

After the ceremony we headed over to Calhoun Square for a few photos of Wendy & Mark and their family.

The reception was held at the beautiful Charles H. Morris Center . . .

There were so many wonderful people & organizations who volunteered and helped out with the project, but I don’t have all their names.  For more information check out the website that Becky & Jim Byous (the organizers who started the project) have set up : WEDDINGS FOR WARRIORS

And a big THANK YOU to MARK and ALL the members of our MILITARY who keep us safe and free every day.  I just wanted to express my appreciation & gratitude to all the members of MILITARY and their families for their dedication and all the sacrifices they make for our great country.  THANK YOU ALL~!!!
Lastly, here is a quote from an article in the Savannah Morning News : “That level of generosity made her second wedding day all the more special, Wendy Moyer said just after reaffirming her vows with her husband of almost eight years, Marine Corps Warrant Officer Mark Moyer.  “It is just amazing to me,” Wendy Moyer said. “I have no words. I can tell these people, ‘Thank you,’ and to them it is nothing to be able to do this for us. To me — I’m just so grateful. I’m honored that they would do this, and I’m so very grateful that they did this.”  For Mark Moyer, a 13-year Marine Corps veteran currently stationed at Parris Island, S.C., Wednesday meant his wife’s family from North Carolina could finally see her get married, something that was not a possibility when they wed at a small chapel in the California desert in April 2005.  “This was great,” the Marine said. “I’m just glad she finally had the wedding she always wanted to have.””
