The experience was sooooooo memorable because for the race JR was driving the #3 car in memory of his Dad! Here is JR qualifying, he appropriately qualified in 3rd position (which told me this day was going to be lucky).

The Nationwide Race was on Friday night and the fans (including me) went INSANE when JR pulled into first position. We all stood up the last 26 laps which JR led and with hearts pounding, JR took the checked flag for a very emotional WIN!

It was a good day & a great race . . . I was able to catch up with him & quickly got my hat signed. This makes lucky hat #3 for me. 🙂 Congrats to JR on such an AMAZING race and a well deserved victory!

I love watching a race. Many people who say a race is boring don’t understand the nuances that go into it. That being said, the last 10 races of the year have lost all meaning to me. You come out of Richmond in fall with a driver that has done really well all year (and it has been Jimmie Johnson before). But some years, out of 5th or 6th place, here comes Jimmie Johnson who overtakes all the leaders accomplishments of 26 races and runs them over in 10. It’s like watching the Yankees in the late 90’s beat everyone in the world series, over and over again. NASCAR needs to make it competitive again so there are actually chances of someone else winning the chase for a change
