thank you…merci…gracias…grazie

SMALL words with BIG meanings…it’s a simple way to show your gratitude or appreciation to another.  It is one of the MOST important things I do.  I will sit and hand write a note on a card to say “thank you” to someone.  I always have tons of cards & stationary on hand for this reason.  I will ride around Savannah for hours looking for just the perfect gift(s) to send to clients, friends & even colleagues.  I frequent our local bakeries, like Riverstreet Sweets, Savannah Candy Kitchen or Two Smart Cookies, buying all kinds of goodies for baskets & boxes to shipped out.  I even spend time in Paula Deen’s gift shop finding those spices, sauces, mixes, cookbooks, coffee or even a really cool apron…just because it has Paula’s name on it.  Byrd’s Cookie Company has great tins of cookies, but they also have so many more really cool items.  They even have a bag of mix for Fried Green Tomatoes & yes fried green tomatoes are DELICIOUS! Savannah Bee Company is amazing, a small company started here in Savannah, GA and now found all over the continental US.  Nourish is a favorite of mine, located off historical Broughton Street and carrying a unique line of natural bath products.  24E which is conveniently located at 24 East Broughton Steet has a little of everything, that’s where I buy all my Lampe Berger.  There are soooo many more places I frequent to buy special gifts to say thank you, these above are just a few.  Adding a personal touch, in finding the right gift to say thank you, is just something that I feel is VERY important.

Knowing my dedication, you can now understand why “thank you” gifts I receive mean SO MUCH to me.   Recently my bride & groom from New York did such a wonderful thing for me…I am still smiling.  I had not met either of them and upon introductions and huggs, Tammy handed me a box .  I was blown away.   It’s a snowglobe & music box combo with a simple message….THANK YOU.  Below it there is an engraving of Tammy & Walter’s wedding date, which had to be changed because the original engraving had the wrong date.  Her story of bringing me this gift made it even more special.  After her long trip to get the engraving corrected, she decided to bring it in her carry-on bag so that it would not get broken.  Hummmmmm…that was a “no…no” at the airport, because the globe had liquid in it.  So Tammy & a very patient Walter got out of the security line and made arrangements to check the snowglobe in a box and let it ride the plane with all the other luggage.   I am sure at this point Walter may have wanted to throw it into a wall, but he didn’t.

Well, it made it safely and has been sitting on my desk ever since . . .

Thank You Tammy & Walter . . . your kindness touched my heart!

* To ALL my brides, grooms, their families, clients from family or portrait shoots, seniors, ETC…to each and every client, whether currently connected or in my past . . . I say THANK YOU AGAIN to each of you!
